Reducing our carbon footprint with improvement at our dealerships

We have some upcoming work taking place at our Ashton and Keighley Head Office branch, which forms the start of our commitment to investing in the reduction of our carbon footprint.

The first of our investments will begin in April as we commence with the fitting of solar panels to our dealership at Ashton Under Lyne. We’ll then move onto phase 2 which will be to install solar panels at our Keighley dealership.

Whilst we will do our very best to keep disruption to a minimum, there will be some unavoidable disturbance when visiting our dealerships during these times.

Please read on for further details & of course if you have any questions, please do get in touch with your local Colin Appleyard dealership.

Ashton Under Lyne

Work commencing early April 2023

Work will begin during the first week of April & is planned to take 2-3 weeks.

Our dealership will remain open however our workshop & car cleaning facilities will be at a reduced capacity and will be impacted.

We apologise for any inconveniences that may be caused.

Keighley

Due to commence May 2023

We are in the final stages of planning & estimate that work will be taking place in May.

We will communicate full details once we have a confirmed date & our priority will of course be to keep any disruption to a very minimum.

How will the work at Ashton impact me?

Due to the extent of the work being carried, it will be necessary to implement some of these temporary changes: -

One Way System

A one way system will be in place when visiting our Ashton dealership. There will be a temporary entrance set up next to our existing entrance which will be clearly signposted for you. Please call our dealership in advance of your visit if you would like to clarify details or have any concerns.

Service Customers

Whilst our workshop will remain open, we will be operating at reduced capacity. Our Ashton service team have been attempting to contact anyone who has a vehicle due in for work during April to make arrangements to have the work carried out. If you have not heard from them, or wish to discuss a new or existing booking, please call them direct on 0161 330 5148.

Car Cleaning Facilities

Unfortunately our car cleaning facilities will be impacted during early April & whilst we will do our best to provide a wash & vac for any cars which are in for work, we cannot give any guarantees & so offer our apologies in advance if this service cannot be provided.

What else are we doing?

We’re continuing to look at other ways of improving across all areas of our business, not only to reduce our carbon footprint, but to help manage our ever increasing costs & allow us to remain competitive for you our customers.

Here’s just a few examples of other things we’re doing…

Energy Savings

Like everyone, we have seen massive increases in gas & electric prices but the positive of this is that it has encouraged us to take a much closer look at our energy usage & we’re encouraging staff to do everything they can to contribute.

We’ve installed energy efficient lighting along with movement sensors & zone controls in an effort to reduce our electric usage.

Recycling

We’re making an effort to ensure we recycle as much as we possibly can. As well as general recycling (such as paper & cardboard etc), we also recycle as many of our wider waste products & in as much of an environmentally conscious process as is available to us.

We’re even using biodegradable, ethically sourced tea bags which are then used for compost once we’ve enjoyed our brews!

Got any questions?

As always, if you need any help or have any questions then please just get in touch & a member of our team will get back to you.

We offer our apologies in advance but do hope you understand that we are working towards a better future for everyone.
