4x4 FAQ's

What is a 4x4 car?

A car is considered as a 4x4, or 4 wheel drive, when the engine delivers power to all 4 wheel equally allowing them to move at the same pace. Some cars will be designed to do this automatically whilst others will have the option to manually select a 4 wheel drive mode.

Are 4x4 cars just for off-road?

No! Our range of 4x4 cars are designed to be used for everyday driving and to have minimal impact on your car's efficiencies. Their 4 wheel drive capability will keep you on the road all year round and help you to avoid any potential inconvenience which could be caused by bad weather and poor road conditions.

What's the difference between four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive?

An all-wheel drive (AWD) car is capable of sending different levels of power to each of the wheels. Our Subaru range features a permanent all wheel drive system allowing the engine to power each of the wheels as needed. Suzuki's ALLGRIP range features a 4x4 system which is designed to support you whilst driving in tricky conditions but without impacting your car's MPG and emissions making it an economical choice.
