Car Sales Intern

at Colin Appleyard Suzuki, Bradford and Colin Appleyard Suzuki & Subaru Ashton, Huddersfield

  • Are you an enthusiastic and driven sales orientated professional looking for a new challenge in the motor trade and automotive industry?

    We are a true family run business with excellent staff retention. We have recently been expanding and adding to the team and are looking for enthusiastic driven people who are able to interact with customers of all ages, and deal with the sales process on both new and used cars, from prospecting through to handover. We currently have 3 positions available across the group.

    Candidates must have the following in order to apply:
    • Enthusiastic and driven sales professional (appropriate training/mentoring will be provided)
    • Ability to source and contact potential new customers, and work an existing database
    • Experienced in the use of a content management system
    • Ability to achieve the sales targets for new and used vehicles, maximising profit through achieving best sale prices and upselling of products and accessories
    • Competent to follow through all aspects of the sales process, including paperwork and legislation, from prospecting customers to handover of a vehicle
    • Excellent communication and customer facing skills and can demonstrate excellent customer satisfaction skills
    • Be able to adapt to the family style ethos and promote our APPY core values with our customers
    • Trustworthy and reliable, and committed to the role
    • A full UK driving licence (preferably clean)

Service Manager

at our Suzuki & Subaru (Huddersfield) dealership

  • Salary: Basic of £26k -£28k, plus car, monthly and annual bonuses OTE £30k

    We are looking for a Service Manager to join our team, a person who has minimum 2yrs Main Franchise dealer experience in
    this role but all other candidates will be considered. Candidate would need to have excellent customer service skills,
    excellent managing people skills and be IT savvy ideally with working knowledge of the Kerridge system. The role is at our
    Suzuki/ Subaru Car Dealership in Huddersfield.

    Reporting to the Group Aftersales Manager and the Directors, you will be customer facing and hands on the desk, whilst
    overseeing 5 technicians and 2 Service Advisors, and be supported in Aftersales with a Parts Manager. You will manage your
    team and their efficiencies effectively and be able to cover all aspects of the role, taking ownership of problems, and of
    providing the highest level of customer care and experience for our Suzuki clientele.

    Our chosen candidate will:
    • Already have experience in this role and ideally be Suzuki accredited
    • Hold a full UK driving licence
    • Be friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills
    • Be extremely professional, reliable, highly organised and structured, with a stable motor trade history
    • Be able to manage, coach and motivate staff and colleagues, helping to ensure a welcoming, friendly environment
  • As well as frontline service desk tasks, other key tasks will be:
    • Successfully managing and driving the technicians and service work
    • Managing staff training and accreditation
    • Delivering exceptional customer service and CSI standards
    • Documenting all warranty work as per manufacturers’ requirements and dealership policy
    • Monitoring and reacting to Daily Operating Control reports, enquiries, complaints etc
    • Reporting of performance and key figures to the Directors and Group Aftersales Manager
    • Achieving Targets
    • Managing departmental compliance and ensuring Suzuki and Appleyard minimum standards are met

Salary: OTE £70k+

  • We have a rare opportunity for a top calibre, confident and professional General Sales Manager to join our car dealership in Keighley. Motor trade experience is essential, together with a proven track record.

    Essentials:
    • Previous sales experience within a car dealership
    • Previous supervisory or management experience
    • Preferably have main dealer experience
    • Excellent communication and customer facing skills and can demonstrate excellent customer satisfaction skills
