The Suzuki Swift is renowned for being reliable, trustworthy & great fun to drive but for some has lacked when it comes to modern touches. That however is set to change with the latest facelift model.
As well as revised front-end styling, an even higher standard of specification and even further emphasis on safety, the 2021 Swift now features a brand new 1.2 litre Dualjet Hybrid engine. Combined with a lightweight chassis, this makes the all-new Swift even more powerful, more environmentally friendly & even more efficient than ever before. There's a choice of manual and automatic gearboxes in the mid-range SZ-T and top of the range SZ5, plus with the SZ5 you get the option of a 4x4 (ALLGRIP) ensuring you stay on the road no matter the weather.
But it doesn't stop there as Suzuki have loaded the Swift with a whole host of standard features, some of which you probably wouldn't expect to see with our current price tag of just £11,799* (price correct as at 1st June 2021).
Let's take a look...
We're going to focus on the entry level Swift SZ-L which despite being the 'base' and cheapest model, beats most of it's competitors hands down when it comes to standard spec. Aside from both exterior and interior updates, the Swift SZ-L is jam packed with standard features, most of which either don't appear or would need to be added on when comparing it to other like for like models.
Unless you've been hiding in a cave for the past few years, you'll be well aware of the aims by governments & World leaders to make all cars run on electric in the not so distant future. Those of us who have always driven a petrol or diesel powered vehicle will no doubt have concerns about how this will work and in particular about how and where we will charge our vehicles. The daily commute might not be so much of a problem but what about longer journeys? The solution, or at least for now, is the option of a Hybrid engine.
Hybrid vehicles are powered by an internal combustion engine which works together with an electric motor and uses energy stored in batteries. A hybrid vehicle does not need to be plugged in. Instead, the battery is charged through regenerative braking and by the internal combustion engine.
To ensure the very best in Hybrid technology, Suzuki partnered with Toyota who are World leaders when it comes to the design and production of Hybrid engines meaning not only does the Swift offer it's trademark reliability but also the very latest innovations.
One of the main advantages of a hybrid car is that it improves fuel economy. This will not only do it's part for the environment by reducing overall emissions, it will also save you money!
The effectiveness of a Hybrid vehicle is further enhanced in urban areas where traffic jams are common and air pollution can pose a real problem.
