WHAT ARE THE SURVEY RESPONSES SCORED ON?
Suzuki’s reliability was hailed as the best by drivers in the magazine’s survey where more than 18,000 people gave thier feedback on the reliability of their cars.
The survey classifies the faults into 14 groups:
- Engine electrics
- Exterior lights
- Fuel system
- Interior trim
- Non-engine electrics
For each of the faults above, owners were asked to identify time their vehicle spent off the road using categories ranging from less than one day to more than a week. They were also asked for details on repair costs ranging from free fixes covered by the manufacturer's warranty to costs of more than £1,500. The information was weighted according to the severity of the fault; those that cost the most and kept the car off the road the longest were penalised the heaviest.
From this data, WhatCar? compiled ratings for 159 models from 31 different car brands with the Suzuki S-Cross coming out on top!
