Following on from our blog article back in August, the all-new 2018 Swift Sport had its global premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show at the end of September and the third generation model features a lower, wider stance, more aggressive styling, & a torque-to-weight ratio that propels it into genuine hot hatch territory.
“We know that our customers value a dynamic driving experience above everything else,” Swift Sport chief engineer Masao Kobori says, “so we’ve made the new Swift Sport lighter, faster and more stimulating in every way.”
These cars must be registered by 31st October, after which they will become pre-registered.
Gone is the naturally aspirated 1.6 engine, replaced with the same 1.4 boosterjet (turbo-charged) engine from the Vitara S. This will keep the bhp around the 140 mark, but increase the torque significantly from 160nm to 230nm. The new model will also be 80kg lighter than the outgoing version, meaning that 0-62mph will take significantly less time.
As with the brand new Swift, the new Swift Sport will also encompass plenty of technology including Advanced Forward Detection System, Dual Sensor Brake Support, Lane Departure Warning, Weaving Alert Function, High Beam Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
The latest information from Suzuki is that the new Swift Sport will be available in spring 2018. Want to be kept up-to-date on the new Swift Sport? Make an enquiry and we'll keep you informed!
