The first iteration of the Swift Sport arrived back in 2006 and was an instant hit for those people wanting a bit more power and fun from their Suzuki Swift. The Sport version added larger alloys, distinctive front fog lamps, twin exhausts and improved handling from a firmer suspension.
In 2012 when the new model was released, Suzuki had a challenge on their hands to build on an already winning formula. The new model succeeded in doing just that, bringing a new chassis to the table along with a 6th gear for improved MPG. Combined with new technology and a low price tag, the new Swift Sport had no problem receiving raving reviews from the automotive press and owners. As a prospective buyer, you only had to test drive it to instantly see its appeal. 2015 saw the Sport receive some tweaks, adding touchscreen navigation and a 5 door option. Bearing all that in mind, Suzuki have a lot to live up to with the new 2018 Swift Sport model.
"⋆⋆⋆⋆⋆ The Suzuki Swift Sport is a pleasingly old-fashioned sort of hot hatchback."
Judging by the photos that Suzuki have released - we can see that on the exterior the new model still sports its signature twin exhausts, but there are new black alloy wheels and a black lower body kit. It also looks like yellow will be part of the paint line-up!
The interior photos show a dashboard similar to the new Swift, but with exclusive red touches, the most obvious being around the rev and speed dials. The centre console encompassing DAB Radio and Sat Nav is a familiar feature, currently found on several other models including the new S-Cross and Vitara.
"⋆⋆⋆⋆ Our favourite Suzuki Swift delivers old-school hot hatch thrills for a reasonable price. It's well equipped, too."
