2019 Team Appleyard Macadam riders announced!

Yamaha Motor UK has just announced their continued support of Dickies British Supersport Champions, Appleyard Macadam for 2019 onboard their Integro Yamaha YZF-R6 machine. The team are shooting for ‘three in a row’ in the Dickies British Supersport Championship with 2018 series winner Jack Kennedy, again partnered with the impressive Brad Jones.

Kennedy decimated the opposition on his latest specification Appleyard Macadam Racing prepared YZF-R6, taking 11 wins and finishing on the podium in every race he entered, whilst 20 year old Jones finished fifth in his rookie season, ending the year on a high with his second podium of 2018 in the final race at Brands Hatch.

Dublin based Jack Kennedy will be looking to defend his middleweight crown as he explained:

"I'm really happy to be staying with Integro insurance Yamaha to defend the British Supersport title in 2019. It’s a proven winning combination as team, bike and rider gel so well and we really enjoy our racing together so it’s the perfect package all round. We have had a fantastic 2018 season and all credit to my Appleyard Macadam crew who gave me a faultless bike to do the job on. It was great to reward them with the championship for all their hard work and the plan for next year is to do the same. The YZF-R6 is a dream to ride and I'm as excited as ever to get the season started! 2019 can’t come around quick enough."

Similarly, Brad Jones is looking to build on his impressive debut season:

"I am delighted to be staying with the team onboard the Yamaha R6. After a successful debut season in the Supersport class, it’s great to be able to have some continuity riding the same bike and working with the same guys. We learnt a lot this season, knowing what we now know we can really go into the start of 2019 and hit the ground running. With some testing lined up before round one, we can assess some valuable things and then get our heads down at Silverstone for the new season. I would really like to thank Team Appleyard Macadam, Integro Insurance and Yamaha UK for this opportunity."

Integro Yamaha Team principal Robin Appleyard summed up:

"Our target has got to be three on the bounce! We won with Keith Farmer in 2017, Jack in 2018 - so we’re going for it again. The team worked really smoothly with the new R6, Jack was impressive from the off and by the end of the season Brad was showing some great results. He’s only 20, so he’s got a real learning curve and we’re looking for him to be joining Jack on the podium regularly in 2019."

The season starts with Silverstone on the 19th - 21st April, and we wish the team best of luck in both testing and the forthcoming 2019 championship.
