NISSAN NAMED ULEV MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR

As electric cars become more widespread, it pays to be the leader in the field. And that's exactly where Nissan find themselves after being named ULEV (Ultra Low Emission Vehicle) manufacturer of the year at the Energy Saving Trust's Fleet Hero Awards.

It's an important honour for the company which leads the British market for all-electric vehicles with the Nissan Leaf, and the newly introduced e-NV200 commercial van. Both are major sellers in their class against increasing competition from other manufacturers who are desperately trying to catch up on Nissan's lead.

The Leaf is now the world's best-selling electric car, and it's become a favourite of fleet operators who are seeing it as an ideal commuting car for business operators.

Nissan's Barry Beeston said: “The LEAF and the e-NV200 have picked up dozens of industry awards between them but this award is particularly special as it recognises the contribution Nissan has made to the success of electric vehicles in the UK and our ongoing commitment to providing the fleet sector with desirable and practical vehicles which offer a simple and cost effective solution to lowering emissions.”

What's in it for the everyday car buyer? For a start, 85% of drivers charge their car at home overnight, so the vehicle is all ready to go first thing in the morning, all at approximately 2p per mile. You even get a government grant to help you install a safe charging point in your home to help you on your way.
For longer journeys, there are increasing numbers of fast-charge points in town centres and motorway service stations, meaning that you can get your car fully juiced up within 30 minutes while you enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee.

And the biggest incentives for Nissan Leaf buyers: Zero emissions means a reasonable-sized family car with zero road tax, and FREE rapid charging at any Nissan dealership. We also offer a free petrol or diesel Nissan car for up to 14 days during your first three years of ownership.
From £13,240, or £189 per month (subject to conditions), it's a car that makes great financial and economic sense. Not only that, but we offer you a full 24-hour test drive, and a five year / 60,000 mille battery state of health guarantee.
