With high-quality finishing touches – automotive-style instruments, illuminated underseat storage, a large glovebox and a sumptuous dual seat – the TMAX turns every journey into a pleasure.

A TMAX inherits the best of Yamaha's know-how, combining the fun, luxury and handling of sports-touring motorcycles with the convenience of a scooter. Both you and a passenger are free to enjoy the ride in comfort.

A large liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve engine delivers great performance in and out of town. And while a wraparound fairing and a high windshield offer great all-weather protection, disc brakes at the front and back – inherited from supersport bikes – rapidly bring your TMAX to a stop.

Powerful, sporty engine
The liquid-cooled 4-stroke, 4-valve engine has twin parallel, forward-inclined cylinders, for great midrange torque. Combined with a balancer system, the twin cylinders deliver a smooth ride. Fuel Injection offers efficient combustion and precise running, boosting power in the low and midranges – enjoy corner to corner acceleration on winding roads.

Die-cast aluminium chassis
For tremendous strength and remarkable lightness, the TMAX is built around a unique die-cast aluminium frame. It delivers agile, low-speed manoeuvrability and a reassuring feeling of stability at high speeds. While the engine – just like a motorcycle – is rigidly mounted inside the frame, the 15 litre fuel tank sits low to optimise handling.

Large wheels
With power you need control. While the TMAX’s sophisticated engine provides plenty of power – and its light frame adding agility and handling – it has large 15inch wheels to stick to the road. And the motorcycle-style dual 267mm front disc brakes and single 267mm rear disc brake give you the control you need.

Sports-style high-up exhaust
As befits such a powerful machine, the TMAX has a muscular rear muffler. And because it's positioned high-up in the chassis, there's great ground clearance during cornering. It also produces a deep, throaty, satisfying growl under acceleration.

Luxurious levels of comfort
The TMAX is designed to make journeys as comfortable as possible. The aerodynamic bodywork offers great weather protection, while the ergonomically sculpted seat provides an easy riding position. Passenger grab rails and fold-out footrests make long rides a joy for two, while underseat storage and gloveboxes allow for plenty of cargo.

Responsive handling
The TMAX suspension lifts both handling and comfort to new levels, providing excellent cornering, stability and overall feel. The cushioned ride provided by the strong rear shock is complemented by motorcycle-style telescopic front forks: highly resistant to twisting, they keep the front wheel tracking straight and true in various road conditions.
